Day 344: Shirley Wagner

“My approach to figure drawing is unconventional. Working furiously with a pencil, I capture the dynamism of the human form. Much like an architect, I draft a  network of lines on top of the initial gesture marks which allows the figure to emerge. I then bring my own aesthetic to the work by layering translucent films, metals and found materials. A multi-dimensional reality is revealed as the work looks into itself.”
